Pastor Chuck Reed


Meet Pastor Chuck Reed and his wife Ruthie,
Pastor Reed was born and raised on a farm near Adrian Michigan. As a teen his family moved to Newberry Michigan where he finished High School. He graduated from Grand Rapids Baptist College and Seminary and has pastured for 47 years, mostly in the Upper Peninsula cities of Newberry, Sault Ste Marie and Dollar Bay, but also in Hillsdale, Grand Rapids, Toledo Ohio and St. Paul Minnesota.
He has written a newspaper column under the byline "PR’s Point" for the Newberry News and Sault Evening news for nearly twenty years and has enjoyed radio ministry in both religious and secular settings. He was the voice of the Newberry Indians basketball and football teams for several years and has also interviewed professional athletes. Pastor Reed has affectionately been called PR for most of his ministry. This was a phrase coined by teens as easier to say on a ball field or basketball court than Rev. Reed or Pastor Reed.
PR has been happily married to his wife Ruthie, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 8th 2007. They have four married children, Tim in Phoenix, Joy in Manistique, Mike in St. Paul Minnesota and Chip in Carbondale Illinois. PR and Ruthie have 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. His hobbies include photography, Great Lakes Nautical history, flowers and scenery. Ruthie enjoys reading, swimming and carries on an extensive personal letter writing ministry. Pastor Reed started as interim on 4/22/07 was called as full time pastor in September of 2007.
